Assets (2014 onwards)
The 3D asset never grows old, accumulates patina or decays. This ongoing series draws from online asset libraries and reflects the disparity of their clientele that range across architectural visualisation, games, motion graphics, visual effects or engineering. The origins, construction history, provenance and intention of these digital readymades are always unclear. On sites like Turbosquid and CGtrader, bombed out Middle-Eastern villages sit alongside geometrically perfect examples of Qatari starchitecture, each selling for anything between $1 and $1000.
Work from this series has exhibited at Fotomuseum Winterthur in Switzerland and Noorderlicht in the Netherlands.
