Her Thief Calculator, 2017. VR installation.
Her Thief Calculator (an anagram of Hall of Architecture) is inspired by Karlheinz Stockhausen’s idea of a ‘sound swallower’, a device that creates negative wave patterns to cancel out noise pollution. I explore how this idea might be transposed to vision as an interactive mechanic, situating the experiment in a test space that sits halfway between the real Hall of Architecture and it’s virtual analog.
