The Thread was a group exhibition held at an old launderette on Mill Road, Cambridge in August 2001. Myself, Becky Taylor-Shaw and Arun Vasudeva created work in response to the space.
This project consisted of a series of experiments with various papers and materials in an attempt to fake NASA images of deep space. Using printer ink, detergent, spices, dirt, soot and sand, I found a set of processes that could approximate the kind of image we’re used to seeing from the Hubble Telescope.
